Peter Bierer's Bio
Growing up in a faith-filled and artistic family, it was inevitable that Peter
Bierer would use music to express and share his faith. At the age of 13,
Peter first led music at a school liturgy, and his passion for music and
ministry continued through high school and college. In that time Peter
also led interdenominational worship groups, blues and rock bands and
performed as a solo acoustic artist.
Peter has performed on local, regional, national and international
platforms including retreats, workshops, concerts and youth rallies, such
as the 2006 and 2008 National Conference for Catholic Youth Ministry, the
2009 National Catholic Youth Conference, and World Youth Day 2008 in
Sydney, Australia.
Peter currently works full time as the Coordinator of Youth Ministry at St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, MN where he lives with his
wife and two daughters. He is also an adjunct staff member for the Center
for Ministry (CMD) Development as a Prayer and Music Coordinator for
Young Neighbors in Action, a summer service-learning experience, and is
an author for CMD's Youth Ministry Access (www.cmdnet.org/access).
Peter also leads a liturgical music group for the Minnesota State
University, Mankato Catholic Newman Center.
Peter attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities School of Music
(2000-2005) and received his B.A. in Music from Minnesota State
University, Mankato.
In 2003 he served on the National Evangelization Team (NET) in Australia
as a parish team leader and team music leader at Holy Spirit Catholic
Church in Adelaide, South Australia.
Peter’s debut album, All Creation Groans, was released on November 1,
2008.
